Course Overview
Collaboration is considered must-to-have organizational mindset if the company is focused on coping with the transforming work environment. The business nowadays is all about fast response, multi-tasking, innovation, and meeting the challenging customer requirements. It is rather important for any organization to have the collaboration mindsets embedded in their organizational values if they are to face the market competition and achieve the desired growth
Harvard Law School Heidi Gardner PhD points out in her forthcoming book Smart Collaboration, people need to collaborate across a variety of specialisations as well as personal and cultural differences for them and their businesses to really garner the dividends of smart collaboration.
What’s needed is the interpersonal skills to work effectively with people who are different from yourself – as well as organisational structures that support collaboration and reward collective work products.
Goal of Course:
This course focused on two critical elements
- Collaboration and Partnership: To encourage collaboration across the organization and build long-term mutually beneficial working partnership with internal and external customers.
- Communication and Influencing Skills: To develop your ability to focus on your outcome, tune in to your audience and develop your message for clarity and impact.
The course balances core knowledge with highly interactive, experiential learning through role play, ‘Interactive game’ and peer-to-peer exchange.

Activity – The Lost Dutchman’s Gold (Grand Game Based on Experiential Approach)
To develops skills, understanding and knowledge for partnering
LD flagship Partnering Practice & team building simulation is based on a story about a lost mine from the 1890s in the southwestern United States. It’s designed so that normal human behavior and its links to the workplace become apparent as participants gain significant and usable insights from the play, discussion and relevant debriefing. Easily targeted to your desired outcomes.
Dutchman superbly demonstrates the importance of:

The main theme is to “Mine as Much Gold as We Can” and “to Maximize Return on Investment” of the Expedition Leader. Teams are encouraged to work together.
Communication is the Key !
This activity focuses on effective communication. It is for two teams with the ideal number of participants being 3-6 per team. Communication is the Key! is a very straight-forward activity aiming at the below learning objectives:
- Illustrates the need for a clear communication
- Exposes the danger of making assumptions
- to keep in mind the desired outcome
- Highlights the importance of checking and clarifying all aspects of a task
- Forcefully shows the importance of unambiguous written communications
- Illustrates how important it is to plan for meetings and agree agendas
- Shows how easy it is for communications to go wrong!
Mission Improbable
This fun and challenging game is used to test team communication competencies and highlight development needs. The behaviours during the task are captured by skill builder. The debrief and lessons are very valuable to the team.
